My personal fine spirits journey started with a friend of mine pouring me a nice Bourbon over 8 years ago, and to my surprise it didn’t taste like the (likely) cheaper blended scotch I had tried as a teenager that made me horribly ill. Over the past years my passion for whiskey have grown exponentially, and my excitement about the many different categories of spirits continue to grow.
Why did I love American Whiskey so much? Why do I like some Rums and not others, and why is it so difficult for me to shake those horrid memories of Tequila so I can start to appreciate some of the new trendy craft Tequila and Mezcal that are starting to appear on the shelves around the world? These questions quite often circle my mind, and I’ve decided it’s time to address them head on.
